What you'll learn
You’ll gain insightful understanding of what the body communicates through stimming, masking, sensory overload, and extreme stress behaviours. We’ll explore the nervous system, sensory processing, and how differences in everyday experiences impact regulation needs and in turn, behaviours. You’ll leave with practical, compassionate insight into what’s happening beneath the surface and why unmet sensory needs can quickly lead to overwhelm.
Through the McAleer Framework, we introduce the first Anchor of Regulation, The Sensory & Body Needs Anchor, revealing why meeting sensory differences is fundamental to emotional balance, wellbeing, and meaningful engagement with the world. You’ll discover why thoughtful accommodations and strategies aren’t just helpful, they’re essential to creating inclusive environments where neurodivergent individuals feel safe, build trust, and form genuine connections.
We’ll explore the 8 senses, how sensory seeking and avoiding present in real life, and practical ways to support sensory regulation in daily life.
Gain practical ideas and deeper insight into how sensory equipment, everyday objects, and natural strategies can be meaningfully integrated into daily life to support sensory regulation.
