Module Overview
This course deepens your empathy and understanding of neurodivergence, helping you see the world through the eyes of those with lived experience. You'll be guided through a compassionate, insight-driven approach that reveals what’s happening beneath the surface, empowering you to respond with empathy, not judgment. Along the way, you'll explore the unique strengths and differences associated with Autism, ADHD, PDA (Pervasive Drive for Autonomy), and more.
This module lays the essential foundation for meaningful support. It builds the deep understanding needed to make accommodations and strategies feel natural and instinctive. Without this grounding, approaches can feel hollow or forced. With it, your support becomes neuro-affirming, authentic, and rooted in real insight and human connection.
With this greater understanding , we shift from assumptions to insight, exploring why behaviours and reactions often differ, how unmet needs can lead to overload, and why accommodations aren’t an optional extra - they’re essential.
This module is grounded in the McAleer Regulation Framework, it features the Three Anchors of Regulation, Modes of Wellbeing and the Volcano Window of Tolerance models: powerful, practical tools for promoting wellbeing.
